You don’t need an extra box to watch IPTV on a modern TV. Samsung, LG and Android TV / Google TV models can all run an IPTV player app directly. This guide shows you how to set up IPTV on each type of Smart TV, how to fix the most common problems, and how to test it before you commit to a plan.
Before you start
- A Smart TV connected to the internet, ideally by Ethernet cable or strong 5 GHz Wi-Fi
- Your IPTV login details (server URL, username and password, or an M3U link)
- About 10 to 15 minutes
- No subscription yet? Start with a $2 KenoIPTV trial and use this guide to test it on your TV
When you order from KenoIPTV, we tell you which player app works best on your TV model and send setup steps for it.

Get the best picture quality on your Smart TV
- Use an Ethernet cable if your TV has a LAN port. It is the most reliable connection for 4K.
- Turn off motion smoothing (Auto Motion Plus on Samsung, TruMotion on LG) for a more natural picture with sports and films.
- Choose the right quality. If 4K channels buffer, switch to the HD version of the same channel.
- Keep your TV and the app updated through the TV settings menu.
Common Smart TV IPTV problems and fixes
The app says “playlist not found” or “no channels”
Check that your login was entered correctly and that your subscription is active. On apps that use a device ID, make sure the ID you sent us matches the one shown on screen.
The picture freezes or buffers
Test your internet speed using the TV’s browser or network settings. Around 10 Mbps is enough for HD and around 25 Mbps for 4K. If you are below that, try a wired connection or restart your router.
The app disappeared after a TV update
Reinstall it from the app store. Your login details stay the same, so you only need to enter them again.
